Chef Robotics Inc. has launched Chef+, its most advanced meal assembly robot to date, targeting large-scale food manufacturing operations. The system is based on operational data from more than 80 million servings and is engineered to address common production constraints, including limited floor space, frequent ingredient refills, and strict sanitation requirements.
Chef+ doubles ingredient capacity while maintaining a compact footprint comparable to a human worker, enabling deployment in tight production layouts. The robot integrates upgraded vision systems, sealed electrical enclosures, improved connectivity, and moisture management to increase reliability in cold environments. It also features higher onboard compute, allowing real-time adaptation to variable ingredients and precise placement on moving conveyors.
The launch reflects growing demand for AI-driven automation in food manufacturing amid labor shortages and rising compliance pressures. By combining flexible hardware, computer vision, and a robotics-as-a-service model, Chef Robotics is positioning Chef+ as a scalable production platform rather than a single-task automation tool.
