Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is a standardized system used in engineering and manufacturing to define the allowable variation in part geometry. It uses symbols, rules, and tolerances to clearly communicate how a part should be manufactured and inspected. GD&T helps ensure that components fit together and function correctly, even when minor variations occur during production. This system reduces ambiguity in technical drawings and improves consistency across suppliers and production teams. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is widely used in CNC machining, mechanical design, and industrial manufacturing.
