Schaeffler has entered a partnership with Neura Robotics to explore the use of humanoid robots in industrial production operations. The collaboration will focus on integrating humanoid systems into real manufacturing environments, where labor-intensive and ergonomically challenging tasks remain difficult to automate with conventional industrial robots.

The initiative centers on Neura’s humanoid platforms, which combine perception, manipulation, and autonomous mobility. These systems are designed to operate in spaces originally built for humans, allowing them to perform tasks such as material handling, machine loading, and internal logistics without requiring major factory reconfiguration. Schaeffler plans to evaluate how humanoid robots can complement existing automation infrastructure.

The partnership reflects growing industrial interest in humanoids as a flexible automation layer. As manufacturers face labor shortages and increasing production variability, humanoid robots are being tested as a potential bridge between fixed automation and human labor, though questions around reliability, cost, and scalability remain central to broader adoption.
