UBTECH Robotics’ consumer brand YouWorld has received more than 2,110 pre-orders within six days of opening pre-sales for its full-size ultra-bionic humanoid robot on JD.com, the company announced on June 7. The product is positioned for emotional companionship scenarios and is scheduled for official release on June 30. UBTECH shares rose more than 4% in early Hong Kong trading following the announcement, closing up approximately 3% at HK$113.7 with HK$517 million in trading volume.

The pre-order figure provides one of the clearest early demand signals for consumer-facing humanoid robots from a company with established commercial scale, in a market where most comparable products remain in development or limited trial phases.
A Distinct Consumer Brand
YouWorld operates as a separate consumer-grade brand under the UBTECH umbrella, distinct from the company’s industrial Walker S series platforms that have been deployed in automotive manufacturing, electronics facilities, and most recently in the DACH region through European distributor Terra Robotics. The separation reflects a deliberate product architecture: industrial clients require different specifications, deployment support, and regulatory compliance than consumer buyers, and maintaining distinct brands allows UBTECH to optimize messaging and product design for each segment.
The ultra-bionic positioning suggests a design emphasis on naturalistic human movement and form factor – capabilities that matter differently in a domestic companionship context than in a warehouse or factory floor where throughput and reliability metrics dominate.
Industrial Track Runs in Parallel
The consumer pre-order milestone arrives alongside continued progress in UBTECH’s industrial segment. The company recently formalized a strategic cooperation agreement with Hitachi China, with Walker S2 units already in active testing at Hitachi’s elevator manufacturing facility in Guangdong province. The collaboration has entered what both companies describe as a substantive validation phase, targeting fully flexible intelligent workflow integration and end-to-end data connectivity across elevator production processes.
The parallel momentum across consumer and industrial tracks positions UBTECH across the full commercial spectrum of humanoid deployment – from factory floor automation to in-home companionship – at a time when the market is beginning to bifurcate between these two distinct demand pools. JD.com’s role as the pre-sales platform for YouWorld also connects to the platform’s broader robotics commerce initiative, which recently announced the world’s first humanoid robot auction as part of its 618 shopping festival campaign.
