Hyosung Chemical is pitching its POKETONE engineering plastic to European robotics and electric-vehicle manufacturers at Fakuma 2026 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The exhibition runs October 12–16, with the Korean supplier highlighting components designed to withstand repeated movement, friction and chemical exposure.
POKETONE is a polyketone material used across automotive, industrial and medical applications. Hyosung’s technical overview emphasizes impact strength, chemical resistance and wear resistance. Its gear applications page also lists grades designed for low noise and resistance to wear.
For robotics, Hyosung is promoting potential uses in humanoid joint gears and shaft supports, where repeated motion places demands on component durability. The company says low moisture absorption helps parts retain their shape and dimensions, while strength, wear resistance and flame retardancy can be adjusted for specific applications.
The exhibition covers automotive connectors, gears, drive components and medical parts under an automotive, robotics and medical theme. Hyosung also plans an October 14 technical seminar and customized support for manufacturers developing applications. The announcement identifies possible uses rather than naming a new humanoid customer or disclosing a robot supply contract.
The push adds a materials supplier to the component-level activity RobotsBeat has covered through First Hydrogen’s actuator investment. For robot makers, selecting a polymer still requires testing the chosen grade and component design under actual loads, temperatures and duty cycles; general material properties alone do not establish the service life of a finished robot joint.
